Can anyone help me in finding a good software to build my website?
Hi, I am a newbie in this online business and I also don't have much computer knowledge and not to talk about designing my own website, but I would like to have one, design by my own.So I was wondering if you could suggest me some free sites that will help me to build my site as well as suggest me some good web site builder software to start about.

A good place for practice would be www.geocities.com They put ads on your website so its not pretty, but its free and would be a great place to practice till you're confident enough to pay for hosting. An excellent freeware to create HTML webpages is kompozer (google for the website, can't remember off the top of my head). The interface is easy to use and quick to pick up. When you're comfortable using it, try picking up HTML and javascript. It would be a whole new world from there :)

There are tons of good open source software which are as good as, if not better then, stuff you have to pay for. Its just something we web designers/developers don't like to tell others, since it gives them the illusion that its easier/cheaper/faster then it really is (and that really hurts our packets XD). Good luck with your website!

Are you a web designer too?Actually I am just planning to attend a course in web designing, since I don't know the ABC of it.So, even if you tell me in detail, I won't be able to catch up with you..

I'm a designer and developer, it helps to understand how the back end stuffs works, so you know what you can do and can't. Don't worry about it, I've been in the field for years now, so its second nature to me:) If you don't mind me being a nag, here's a few quick tips to help you pick up the skill sets you need: 1) Practice, practice, practice. A lot of folks I know take up courses, and forget about them weeks after. The only really way to learn is to get your hands dirty and keep them that way. 2) The net is ever changing. Join forums, keep up with article sites, etc etc. Not only do you learn new things, when you scream, someone might actually be there to save you. 3) Google is your friend. There is always an article out there to teach you how to, learn to find and use resources, not memorize everything. 4) Nothing is impossible, one hill at a time. Professionals scream too, we just learn to do it in our heads and not at our clients, then rush back, google, and burn midnight oil. Hope that helps :D

Thank you.You are right.Even if we join classes unless we practice and practice we stay right here where we are before.I am going through some web designing books so that atleast I can have some ideas on tools and FTP etc.It is fun.I am enjoying this learning process. This is something which I have never done before.

A simple way to build a free website is to visit http://blogger.com Blogger traditionally hosts blogs, but people often set up their blog in a website format. Blogger is fairly easy to use and is especially easy for incorporating adsense into your website. The site includes building tools and allows you some flexibility with arranging your layout.

Hey!!! Do you actually want to create a website or a blog... If you wanted to create a blog.. you can craete one on www.blogspot.com They have nice templates and you can select any one and start writing whatever you want... If you wanted to create your own website... If you want it to be just simple.. then you can use Microsoft Dreamweaver.. To create your webpages.. I you wanted to create a dynamic website... than I would recommend you to contact any website designer... And he will do it for you... Best of luck with your website...^_^
