i dont have any prior experience and im about to start college and i really think that is the way i wanna go...my friend tells me that it is a bunch of math and learning computer languages which to me doesnt sound bad at all...i guess what im asking is would i do fine in computer science without having any experience in it? isnt that what college is for? to learn about new stuff?

This is a hard question to answer without actually knowing more about you.

Yes, college is to learn things, but people who are interested in a career in computers usually start doing things with them before college. For example people assemble computer for themselves or other people, fix other people computers, write program, create web sites, etc. Not to say your couldn't learn these things, but if you haven't shown an interest in doing these things already, it might not be the right career for you.

They will start you at Level 0 as far a computer science.

Just so you know, the differrence in computer engineering and computer science is that computer science deals more with using computers/programming, where computer engineering deals more with mathematics and principles on how computers work.
